My partner and I have been working on digitizing our family histories, collecting photos, documents, and stories that might otherwise be lost over time. It's been rewarding to learn more about our families and preserve those memories for future generations.
What we love most about family history isn't just finding names on a tree, it's discovering the stories behind them. Along the way, we've uncovered family stories that had almost been forgotten and learned more about the people behind items that have been passed down to us, like a mahjong set, an old silverware set that we recently polished, and jewelry that is now in our care. Knowing who these items belonged to and the lives they were part of has made them much more meaningful.
I'd love to hear what brought you here and what the most surprising thing you've discovered about your family has been.
